About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Upton Lane Medical Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Check patient identification and confirm details with the patient.
  • Take physiological measurements from patients as appropriate, such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation, peak flow, pulse rate and rhythm, temperature, height and weight (body mass index).
  • Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient interventions.
  • Give accurate and appropriate information to patients within your competence.
  • Ensure that anomalies are reported to a senior member of the clinical team.
  • Notify a GP/Lead Nurse of any significant patient issues.
  • Ensure full and accurate recording in the patient's computerised records.
  • Carry out administrative tasks, such as call and recall activities and stock takes, as directed by senior members of the service.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Basic Literacy and numeracy skills.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Proficient computer and keyboard skills.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support training.
