Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

Safran Landing Systems is a world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, committed to safer, more sustainable aviation for current and future generations. We design, test, manufacture, and assemble landing gear used on commercial aircraft and UK military aircraft.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting electro-mechanical test systems. You will develop electrical interface systems within the Test facility and be the point of contact for electrical facility support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement electrical interfacing, PLC / HMI systems, and related controls to company standards.
  • Design and install electrical circuitry.
  • Program PLC / HMI systems.
  • Develop and implement motor control, electrical actuation, and power generation equipment.
  • Implement data acquisition and instrumentation techniques.
Requirements:
  • Time served Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or BEng degree, plus relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety.
  • Knowledge of control systems, data acquisition, and instrumentation implementation.
  • Proficient in MS IT packages such as Excel and Word.
