About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Turning Point. As a key member of our Substance Use Treatment Service, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals living in Wakefield.

Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with our Principal Practitioner Psychologist to develop and implement bespoke support plans for clients with Dual Diagnosis needs. This will involve collaborating with mental health services within the district to ensure that disadvantaged service users have access to necessary support for their well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement support plans for clients with Dual Diagnosis needs
  • Collaborate with mental health services within the district to ensure access to necessary support
  • Work closely with the Principal Practitioner Psychologist to provide high-quality support to clients
  • Manage a small caseload of clients and provide low-level interventions and signposting
  • Attend monthly complex case meetings to review clients' mental health needs
  • Assess and manage risks related to mental health difficulties and substance consumption
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology or a relevant qualification. You will also need to have experience of line managing staff and a good understanding of recovery models and approaches. Additionally, you will need to be able to understand and manage risks and clients' safeguarding for both adult and young clients.
