Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Turning Point. As a key member of our Substance Use Treatment Service, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with dual diagnosis needs in the Wakefield District.

Working closely with our Principal Practitioner Psychologist, you will develop and implement bespoke care packages to meet the unique needs of our service users. This will involve collaborating with mental health services within the district to ensure that individuals receive the necessary support for their well-being.

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for line managing a team of staff and developing our Dual Diagnosis offer. You will also support recovery workers with assessments and formulations, as well as completing referrals to relevant mental health services and advocating for clients' admissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement bespoke care packages for individuals with dual diagnosis needs
  • Collaborate with mental health services within the district to ensure that individuals receive necessary support

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology or RMN or CQSW/DipSW or Occupational Therapist
  • Experience of line managing staff
  • Good understanding of recovery models/approaches and mental health issues
  • Ability to understand and manage risks and clients' safeguarding
