Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Android Mobile App Developer to join our team at MECS Communications Ltd. As a key member of our Engineering Chapter, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex mobile applications for devices running the Android operating system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to gather and document business requirements.
  • Translate user stories into actionable software solutions using programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, and Swift.
  • Implement user-friendly interfaces that align with design specifications while ensuring smooth user experiences.
  • Identify and fix bugs, optimize performance, and ensure the app functions across various Android devices and versions.
  • Maintain the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Integrate APIs and connect apps to external data sources, third-party services, and databases.
  • Publish applications to the Google Play Store and handle updates, bug fixes, and improvements post-release.
  • Use version control systems such as Git to manage code versions and collaborate with team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android SDKs, libraries, and best practices to ensure the app is current.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to ensure the app meets project goals.
  • Coach junior developers and contribute to the team's knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in Android App Development.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Swift, and Android SDK.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, Android architecture components (MVVM, MVP, Use Cases, and Clean Architecture), and Android Studio IDE.
  • Knowledge of cloud message APIs, push notifications, and open-source Android ecosystems and libraries.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
