We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Engineering and Asset Management Team as a Project Coordinator. This role is pivotal in addressing the challenges posed by climate change within the rail sector.

Role Summary

In this position, you will play a key role in executing essential projects aimed at enhancing the Southern Region's resilience to climate impacts. Your responsibilities will include formulating a strategic framework for managing weather-related risks and ensuring the region's preparedness for climate challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Execution: Lead and manage projects within the Engineering and Asset Management Directorate.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Offer expert advice and engage with critical internal and external stakeholders, including asset managers, safety teams, maintenance personnel, operations, train operators, and regulatory bodies.
  • Climate Resilience Strategy: Develop a thorough climate resilience strategy for the Southern region, complete with measurable success indicators.
  • Strategic Planning: Create and implement a strategic approach to weather risk management.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Project Management Experience: Demonstrated expertise in managing projects effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with UK and European climate change regulations.
  • Rail Sector Knowledge: Understanding of the rail industry and asset management practices.
  • Communication Proficiency: Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, communication, report writing, and organizational skills.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Report Preparation: Experience in preparing reports for governmental and regulatory review.
