Marine Habitat Mapping Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Habitat Mapping Expert to join our team at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC). As a key member of our Seafloor & Habitat Mapping team, you will contribute to and drive habitat mapping research, particularly in deep-water environments.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in earth sciences, environmental/marine sciences or engineering, with a strong background in numerical and GIS skills, particularly applied to spatial problems in the marine environment. Experience with new technologies and marine robotic systems for deep-water sampling and surveying is highly desirable.
You will be responsible for developing new research projects, including writing proposals and leading new projects, as well as contributing to existing research projects. This will involve research coordination, development and delivery through research expeditions at sea, high-quality publications, stakeholder communication, student supervision and wider outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and drive habitat mapping research, particularly in deep-water environments
- Develop new research projects, including writing proposals and leading new projects
- Contribute to existing research projects, including research coordination, development and delivery
- Develop and deliver high-quality publications, stakeholder communication, student supervision and wider outreach activities
Requirements:
