Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are pleased to announce openings for qualified and HCPC registered Clinical and Counselling Psychologists to join our Mental Health Services dedicated to the elderly population. These positions are classified at Band 8a; however, we encourage applications from those nearing qualification, newly qualified professionals, or individuals interested in preceptorship roles. The role involves collaboration within a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), where Psychologists are esteemed members of a broader multidisciplinary team, which may include other psychological professionals such as CBT Therapists and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including the provision of psychological therapy, conducting specialized neuropsychological evaluations, and enhancing the team's effectiveness through formulation, consultation, and supervision.

You will be integrated into a comprehensive psychology department that prioritizes your professional growth and empowerment. Our department regularly convenes for psychology meetings and organizes team-building days and reflective sessions. Furthermore, the MHSOP Care Unit emphasizes the significance of ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

We have recently enhanced our offerings by providing access to post-qualification specialist training, alongside established Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions. Psychologists are highly regarded within the MHSOP Care Unit, and you will be encouraged to actively participate in service enhancement and organizational transformation. Our department is currently engaged in various service development initiatives, including pathways for psychological therapies, serious mental illness (SMI), and complex emotional needs. Concurrently, the Care Unit is evaluating the delivery of psychologically informed care, staff training to support this initiative, and the introduction of new roles to facilitate the provision of psychological interventions at various levels. Psychologists play a crucial role in this process, and you will have the opportunity to both support and engage in these initiatives. Additionally, you will become part of a broader network of Psychologists across the Trust, coordinated by an Associate Director for Psychological Professions, with regular opportunities for professional connection. We maintain strong partnerships with local training programs and academic institutions, which also offer further research, supervision, and teaching opportunities. Current vacancies are available across various localities.
