Position: Fire Safety Consultant

Location: Hull – covering the Northern region

Salary: £36,372 - £44,180 annually plus Company vehicle

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Fire Safety Consultant to join our Fire and Security team based in Hull. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of four, primarily conducting fire safety evaluations and assisting with secondary inspections of pre and post-remedial works across our property portfolio, ensuring the highest safety standards are upheld. This position offers a blend of site and remote working.

Our Compliance team is tasked with overseeing adherence to safety regulations, including fire risk assessments, to ensure our properties meet legal requirements, with a primary focus on resident safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting fire risk assessments, audits, inspections, and surveys in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Generating and maintaining documentation and reports for fire risk assessment specifications, demonstrating that inspections and remedial actions align with key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Facilitating communication and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, identifying any service delivery deficiencies.
  • Enhancing awareness of fire hazards and advocating for fire safety measures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • To ensure compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates must possess at least a Level 3 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment; a Level 4 qualification is preferred. Candidates should either be pursuing their Level 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment or be willing to undertake this qualification with Sanctuary Group's support.
  • Recent experience in a similar role, such as Fire Risk Surveyor, Fire Risk Assessor, or Fire Safety Officer.
  • A proven history of conducting fire risk assessments, ideally within the social housing or construction sectors.
  • Familiarity with fire regulations, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and current best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage workloads effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • This role requires driving for company purposes; therefore, candidates must hold a valid UK driving license.
