About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in administering construction contracts, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, including tendering, reviews, negotiations, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  2. Workforce Oversight: Assist with workforce oversight, including subcontractor deployment and timekeeping, to ensure efficient project progress.
  3. Payment Processing: Meet with subcontractors throughout the works, approving stage payments, and ensuring accurate take-offs and measurements.
  4. Change Order Evaluation: Evaluate and process change orders, ensuring they are properly documented and approved.
  5. Cost Reporting: Generate regular cost reports and forecasts to provide the Construction Manager and Directors with up-to-date financial information.
  6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documents, contracts, invoices, payments, and correspondence.
  7. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the wider team, ensuring seamless project execution.
  8. Business Development: Support and seek best values in other areas of the business, advising and assisting where needed.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related subject.
  2. Experience: Experience in Paving, Asphalt, Highways, Roads, Car Parks, Groundworks/Civil Engineering projects is desirable.
  3. Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, friendly, sociable, and driven, with a full driving license.
  4. Commercial Awareness: Commercially aware, with attention to detail and a right-first-time attitude.
  5. Organizational Skills: Organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
