Make a Difference in the Lives of Young Adults with SEN

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school providing day support for young people with SEN and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in preparing students for life through person-centred academic and vocational study programmes leading to independent living with employment or further study.

Our school supports children and young adults between the ages of 5-16 years and boasts extensive grounds with exceptional facilities, including horticultural areas, outdoor learning environments, a gym, digital studio, and Science labs.

This is a term-time only role, needed ASAP, and is a great opportunity to work with an exceptional educational team to increase resilience, confidence, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and well-being in these children and young adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex needs and learning difficulties in a safe and positive school environment
  • Work collaboratively with the educational team to develop and implement person-centred study programmes
  • Assist with academic and vocational activities, including horticultural and outdoor learning experiences
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting their well-being and independence
