Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:
Active SEN is seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school setting. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, promoting their inclusion and participation in learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a safe and tidy classroom environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
• Contribute to record-keeping by documenting observations of students during the school day, providing valuable insights for teachers and other support staff.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, sharing knowledge and understanding of students to ensure a cohesive approach to their support.
• Demonstrate positive attitudes, values, and behaviors consistent with the role, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage participation of all students in learning and extracurricular activities, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
• Provide teaching and learning support, utilizing appropriate technical resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Support and teach students with SEN and additional needs, adapting your approach to meet individual requirements.
• Collaborate with other SEN Teaching Assistants to deliver effective support to students in group settings.

Requirements:
• Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, communicating with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
• Positive attitudes, values, and behaviors consistent with the role, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEN.
