Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel.

Job Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students receive the support they need.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Assist with personal care and medical needs of students as required, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and contributing to student development.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant SEN training or experience, with a strong understanding of SEN strategies and techniques.
Desirable Qualities:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
Working Conditions:

This role involves working within a classroom environment, supporting students with varying degrees of SEN. The working hours are typically school hours, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
