Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team at SSE. This role offers a flexible working environment across Scotland, with a requirement for a base location in one of our offices. The projects you will oversee are primarily located in the northern regions, necessitating site presence.


Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from £55,200 to £83,000, complemented by a car allowance, performance-related bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your family, financial health, and overall wellbeing.


Employment Type: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available.


As a Senior Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in leading the SSEN Transmission Capital Delivery team, managing the construction phases of significant capital projects aimed at advancing Scotland's Net Zero goals. These projects vary in scale and complexity, with values typically between £20 million and £500 million.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing the SSE team and coordinating multiple external contractors to ensure project excellence and adherence to commitments.
  • Overseeing the development and execution of large-scale capital projects, ensuring safe delivery within the established timeline, budget, and quality standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with our Safety Management Systems, industry best practices, and SSE's Large Capital Projects Governance processes.
  • Exemplifying alignment with SSE's safety culture and core values.

Qualifications:

  • A robust background in project management, engineering, or construction, with a solid understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, with a proven history of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Experience in contractual management (preferably NEC3), with skills in cost forecasting, control, and integrated project program development.
  • A valid driving license is required, along with a willingness to travel to project sites and be present on-site for a significant portion of the week during construction phases.
  • While experience in managing large electricity transmission projects is advantageous, we also value candidates with experience in other major project sectors who demonstrate a strong capacity for rapid learning.
