The role involves providing assistance to individuals grappling with substance use disorders, primarily within primary healthcare settings through collaborative care agreements established with local general practitioners.
Responsibilities include delivering treatment, intervention, and ongoing monitoring for clients facing addiction challenges.
You will also offer guidance and support to general practitioners regarding suitable treatment alternatives for individuals dealing with substance-related issues, serving as a resource for GPs seeking advice and direction concerning addiction and related comorbidities.
Key Responsibilities
An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified professional to step into the role of Assistant Team Leader in Shared Care, joining the Aneurin Bevan Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service (ABSDAS) as part of the South team, focusing on the Newport and Caerphilly regions.
ABSDAS is a community-oriented service dedicated to providing treatment for adults aged 18 and above who are dependent on drugs and/or alcohol. The service offers a comprehensive treatment and case management approach for individuals facing substance misuse issues alongside associated complexities, including mental health, physical health, pregnancy, and child welfare concerns.
The ideal candidate will engage with service users to thoroughly evaluate their needs and formulate a tailored care plan aimed at enhancing their physical and psychological health in conjunction with addressing their substance use.
Proficiency in the Welsh language is preferred for this position; however, applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.
