Position Title: Building Services Engineer with Mechanical Expertise
Location: London & Surrounding Areas
Role Objective:
This position involves supporting our clients at their facilities by delivering both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive assistance to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) assets, alongside minor fabric repairs, while fostering an inclusive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Competently operate and maintain all MEP systems within the facilities, including mechanical isolations and operations. Provide recommendations for enhancements and deliver detailed technical reports as necessary.
  • Assist in minor fabric repairs.
  • Ensure that service visits from specialist vendors are conducted efficiently, with quality inspections and communication of recommendations to the facility management team.
  • Accurately document all completed work orders, including precise records of any critical spare parts utilized during these tasks, using the ElogBooks CAFM platform.
  • Review and prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), actively participating in relevant EOP scenario drills.
  • Complete PPM, daily, and weekly reports, ensuring that significant events or activities are documented and effectively communicated to the facility management team.
  • Engage in Health and Safety compliance activities, including Hazard/Near Miss Reporting and regular participation in scheduled Toolbox Talks.
  • Ensure compliance with MEP processes and procedures when executing all relevant work orders, maintaining risk management documentation (SOP or EOP) for all tasks performed.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain for ordering M&E components for remedial or corrective actions.
  • Take ownership of designated areas, including all plant rooms, ensuring they are maintained to the required standards.
  • Efficiently complete ELB Work Orders assigned, ensuring acknowledgment and completion within Service Level Agreements (SLA) with any observations noted.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in MEP environments with a mechanical or multi-skilled focus.
  • Completion of an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds (C&G) qualifications or equivalent.
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing, and certification is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Proactive approach to achieving the highest operational standards.
  • Competent IT skills and report writing abilities.
  • Capability to work under pressure while maintaining composure and clarity to deliver required services within time constraints.
