Role Title: Building Services Engineer with Mechanical Expertise
Location: London & Home Counties
Role Purpose:
This position involves supporting our clients at various locations by providing both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive support for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) assets, along with minor fabric repairs, while fostering an inclusive team environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Competently operate and maintain all MEP systems, making improvement recommendations and providing detailed technical reports as necessary.
  • Assist with minor fabric repairs as required.
  • Ensure efficient completion of specialist vendor service visits, inspecting quality of work and communicating findings to the Facilities Management (FM) team and Account Manager.
  • Accurately document all completed work orders, including tracking critical spare parts used during tasks via the ElogBooks CAFM platform.
  • Review and prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), actively participating in relevant scenario drills.
  • Complete PPM and daily/weekly reports, ensuring significant events are communicated effectively to the FM team and management.
  • Engage in Health and Safety compliance activities, including Hazard/Near Miss Reporting and attending scheduled Toolbox Talks.
  • Ensure compliance with MEP processes and procedures during all work orders, maintaining risk management documentation.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain for ordering M&E components for remedial works.
  • Take ownership of designated areas, ensuring they are maintained to the required standards.
  • Efficiently complete assigned ELB Work Orders, ensuring timely acknowledgment and completion within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in MEP environments with a mechanical or multi-skilled focus.
  • Completion of an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Possession of C&G Pts or equivalent qualifications.
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection certification; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing, and certification is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Proactive approach to achieving high operational standards.
  • Proficient in IT and report writing.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining clarity and delivering services within time constraints.
