Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking a skilled Sub Contract Buyer to join our Procurement function in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and managing commercial agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal and external governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial agreements with suppliers, including internal and external customer flow downs, NDAs, TAs, and export licenses.
  • Prepare and present contract compliance packs for internal audit.
  • Ensure price reasonableness and report on benchmarking.
  • Deliver and support cost negotiation of supplier pricing and provide reporting for internal/external audit.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities across products in line with declared project/product targets.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to understand product route maps and identify capable and sustainable sources of supply.
  • Identify and encourage supplier competition for NPI material requirements, utilizing the Supply Review Board (SRB) process.
  • Prepare lifecycle management reporting to outline the status and progress of material sourcing, contracting compliance, and bid support.
  • Manage supplier delivery performance of NPI contracts and certain production contracts throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with suppliers and other IPT members.

Requirements:

  • CIPS preferred but not essential.
  • Exposure to/understanding of contract terms and conditions.
  • Working knowledge of trade/export compliance.
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to influence.
  • Team player.
  • Analytical and numerate.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral).
  • IT literate (MS Office and SAP knowledge preferred).
  • Innovative.

Working Conditions:

This is a hybrid working role using display screen equipment, working full-time hours. Infrequent travel, possibly both in the UK and abroad, may be required.
