Establish a Thriving Architectural Services Division


Salmon Planning Company, a renowned planning-led design firm in the South-West, is seeking an exceptional Architect to spearhead the growth of its architectural services division. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing high-quality scheme designs that meet client requirements and respond to local site conditions in collaboration with Chartered Town Planner colleagues.


The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and provide oversight to members of the Design Team. You will be responsible for preparing detailed designs and technical information, compliant with Building Regulations, and assisting in compiling fee proposals for new projects.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative and effective design solutions that meet client needs and site-specific conditions.

• Lead and mentor the Design Team, ensuring high-quality output and efficient project delivery.

• Collaborate with Chartered Town Planner colleagues to ensure seamless project execution.

• Prepare and submit detailed designs and technical information, adhering to Building Regulations.

• Assist in developing fee proposals for new projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.

• Conduct measured building surveys for smaller projects, producing accurate plans and 3D models as required.

• Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring effective communication and timely project progress.

• Participate in weekly management meetings to plan upcoming work and resource allocation.

• Effectively manage your workload and that of the Design Team, ensuring efficient project delivery.

• Assume the role of Principle Designer, as required, in accordance with CDM regulations.


Contribute to Company's Strategic Development


The successful candidate will actively contribute to the company's strategic development, including participating in relevant networking events and assisting with maintaining the company's digital media presence.
