In the UK, Safran Seats focuses exclusively on the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide-body aircraft, with dedicated industrial and engineering teams located in various regions.

As a Production Engineering Specialist, your role will center on enhancing the efficiency of high-quality goods production through cost-effective methods while minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

This position will encompass support for all assembly operations in daily activities.

You will collaborate with design and SQA Industrialization departments to ensure timely delivery of customer programs that meet high-quality standards.

Responsibilities include:
 Providing engineering support to assembly lines
 Designing new systems, equipment, and processes for the introduction of new products or the enhancement of existing ones
 Facilitating problem-solving initiatives
 Eliminating non-value-adding activities
 Maintaining Bill of Materials within the ERP system
 Reviewing engineering drawings and processing ECRs
 Managing operations configuration tracking
 Supporting production readiness assessments
 Assisting with ergonomic workshops
 Preparing necessary documentation for change incorporation
 Supporting operations departments with operator training and development
 Implementing 5S and safety standards
 Staying informed about current and emerging trends in the manufacturing industry
 Undertaking other reasonable duties aligned with business needs and objectives

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:
 HNC or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience/time-served apprenticeship
 Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles
 Experience in manipulating and viewing 3D CAD data for information extraction
 Specification of tooling requirements
 Ability to interpret 2D drawings
 Strong understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
 Excellent knowledge of design for assembly/manufacture methodologies
 Proficiency in MS applications and MRP systems (preferably BaaN)
