Overview

The role is designed to integrate into the Programme Controls team, delivering analytical and reporting expertise to enhance governance and reporting frameworks for the Passenger team. This involves developing plans to track and report on business objectives and programme goals, identifying deviations from established baselines, potential risks, and necessary corrective measures.

Key Responsibilities

As a Performance Analysis Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Overseeing the Passenger team's Power BI reporting platform, ensuring it meets functional requirements and serves the needs of stakeholders effectively.
  • Providing training and support to stakeholders regarding the objectives tool, ensuring clarity on expectations and equipping them with the knowledge to utilize available reporting tools.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis against updates in the objectives tool, employing suitable technology to highlight issues and offer insights on performance.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Passenger team and across routes to ensure periodic reporting updates are of the highest quality in terms of data integrity.
  • Contributing to the compilation of reports in accordance with the established reporting schedule, including periodic and quarterly business reviews.
  • Managing the reporting schedule to ensure it remains current and coordinating the production of reports efficiently.
  • Assisting the Programme Controls team in gathering various reporting requirements within the Northwest & Central region, particularly by leveraging applications like Power Automate and Power BI for effective reporting.
  • Creating and maintaining reporting dashboards and concise project summaries to enhance understanding of performance progress and key focus areas across the team and region.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant experience in managing, planning, or delivering significant construction and engineering projects.
  • A foundational understanding of investment programme and project control processes and systems.

Additionally, while not mandatory, the following skills are advantageous:

  • Familiarity with Power BI and other reporting software utilized within Network Rail.
  • Strong presentation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and analytical techniques.

Work Environment

This position can be based in multiple locations, providing flexibility in work arrangements.
