Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing an operational structure across multiple locations, including overseeing Business Managers, Transfer Station Managers, industry specialists, and staff.
- Driving business development, identifying growth opportunities, ensuring operational excellence, and enhancing service delivery across a diverse customer portfolio while collaborating with the senior leadership team.
- Effectively mentoring and developing Business Managers while partnering with Commercial Managers to implement the commercial strategy safely and legally, maximizing profitability, achieving operational excellence, delivering exceptional customer service, and advancing our business objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships across various functions such as Fleet, Customer Services, Sales, Risk Management, HR, and Finance, ensuring that operational processes are clearly defined and adhered to.
- Creating and executing short-term (0-6 months) and medium-term strategies for the region, ensuring engagement and commitment from key stakeholders at all levels.
- Meeting commercial customer success metrics, including first-time collection rates, recovery collections, bin deliveries, proactive communication, invoice accuracy, and call handling performance.
- Assisting the Commercial Strategy Manager in the implementation of national projects focused on sustainability, efficiency, and growth priorities.
- Guiding and supporting Business Managers in achieving regional priorities and objectives aimed at enhancing sustainability, efficiency, growth, and engagement.
Qualifications we seek:
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong business insight and operational management expertise.
- Experience in financial management, including the development and presentation of financial models and business plans.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification.
- Proven ability to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experienced leader with a track record of fostering high-performance teams.
- Background in leading and implementing transformation and change initiatives.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on solutions and creativity, capable of implementing and embedding strategies within a business.
