About the Role

Cadent Gas Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our team. As a Data Insights Specialist, you will play a critical role in preparing interoperable datasets for external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Data Best Practice guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the team in delivering open data by providing additional assistance in data preparation and publication.
  • Administer and develop the Open Data Portal, ensuring seamless data sharing processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to understand open data requests and assess them using Cadent's processes and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions with Cadent's open data and provide insights and analysis of stakeholder needs.
  • Support the general operation of the data sharing process, assessing and responding to stakeholder requests for data.
  • Conduct data triage and educate data stewards on this process.
  • Ensure all approvals and signatures on relevant data sharing licenses and governance documents are populated in line with the data sharing process.
  • Process open data requests in line with the data sharing process, providing excellent customer service through transparency and openness.
  • Monitor Data User activity and review their feedback to prioritize the development of new data assets.
  • Deliver complex data in a form that offers benefits to stakeholders while keeping data secure.
  • Develop prototype data assets and work with the delivery ARTs to deliver these to production.
  • Develop an excellent understanding of Data Best Practice with respect to Open Data to better support Cadent's Open Data delivery.
  • Interact with data owners and specialists to understand the sensitivities and limitations of the data being worked with.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level within a related field or relevant experience within the data space.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in an analyst role extracting data accurately and preparing it for publication.
  • Experience transforming, aggregating data.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing Geospatial Data (ESRI) and time series data desirable.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Experience transforming, aggregating, and deriving data within the parameters of a regulated process.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
