About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our rapidly expanding team in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will work with both public and private sector clients on a variety of projects, including regeneration, residential, sport and leisure, industrial, and commercial developer schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
  • Engage with customers and develop, grow, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Deliver high-quality services and ensure that cost management deliverables meet customer requirements.
  • Manage projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures.
  • Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies.
  • Cost planning.
  • Cost-in-use studies.
  • Advise on and implement procurement strategies.
  • Prepare tender documentation and manage the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes.
  • Evaluate and report on tenders.
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments.
  • Settle final accounts.
  • Provide technical advice on legal and contractual issues relating to construction projects.
  • Administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent.
  • Produce and present reports to customers.
  • Mentor and coach employees to their full potential.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth across business unit activities.
  • Prepare bids for services.
  • Manage service delivery for profit.
  • Advise directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.
