About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Vision Rehabilitation Specialist to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. As a key member of our Sensory Service, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals with visual impairments, deaf/hard of hearing, and deaf blindness to achieve optimum control of their lives through rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with people with sensory needs, their carers, and other organisations to provide expert information, risk management advice, and guidance.
  • Deliver tailored packages of rehabilitation around daily living skills and mobility using a person-centred, strengths-based approach.
  • Ensure the safe use of specialist equipment and provide training on its practical application.
  • Undertake assessments and complete reviews to ensure outcomes are met through support, equipment, and enabling programmes.
  • Provide professional leadership, training, and supervision to develop staff skills and knowledge.
  • Actively promote Equality and Diversity and challenge discrimination.
Our Team

We are a fully inclusive, diverse team of VRS, VRS apprentices, community care officers, social workers, and deafblind workers. We work closely with partners and use assessment tools and support plans to carry out assessments in the person's own home.

What We Offer

We provide additional in-house training to enable you to support people, including short courses on specific conditions, knowledge of Safeguarding/Mental Capacity Act, and functional assessments.
