The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Night Childcare Worker to join our team in a Residential Home in the Worthing area. As a Night Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical and emotional needs of children are met during nighttime hours. This includes managing challenging behavior, providing personal care, advice, assistance, and support.
Main Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Helping children settle into nighttime and morning routines, such as washing, getting up in the morning, and getting ready for bed
- Assisting in the provision and preparation of meals in the Home
- Supporting children in maintaining and improving their skills and daily lives in line with individual care plans
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A good standard of literacy, enabling you to write reports and applications
- Grade D or above (3+) in GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above (4-9) preferred)
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification (can be gained on the job)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
We welcome applicants with:
- Awareness of the development needs of children in residential care
- Knowledge of Children's home regulations 2015 (England)
- Experience of working with children who have experienced trauma, harm, or abuse
- Previous childcare experience, preferably in a residential setting
