About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for our children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to designated children or young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a safe and positive living environment, promoting the well-being and development of our residents.
- Develop and implement individual care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each child or young person.
- Participate in shift rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties, to ensure 24/7 care and support.
Requirements
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy, with ability to write reports and applications.
- Grade D or above in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (with support to complete if necessary).
- Desirable: awareness of child development needs, knowledge of children's home regulations, and experience working with children with disabilities.
