About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at Moog, Inc. in Wolverhampton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and expertise to support the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Corporate Reporting: Develop and implement financial reporting schedules to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
  3. Long-term Accounting: Manage and maintain long-term accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
  4. Budgeting / Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  5. Statutory Accounts: Ensure compliance with statutory accounting requirements, including preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns.
  6. Tax Compliance: Manage tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns and ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations.
  7. Operational Accounting / Cost Analysis: Analyze and optimize operational costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  8. Management Accounting: Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  9. Business Partnering: Collaborate with other departments, including contracts, program management, operations, and engineering, to drive business growth and success.
  10. Reporting and Presenting Financial Results: Develop and present financial reports to stakeholders, including senior management and the Board of Directors.
  11. Liaison with the Group Finance Team: Collaborate with the Group Finance Team in East Aurora, NY, US, to ensure alignment and consistency in financial reporting and processes.
  12. Sustainment of Recent Implementation of SAP S/4HANA: Support the implementation and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA, ensuring seamless integration with existing financial systems.
  13. Development of Financial Reporting Schedules: Develop and maintain financial reporting schedules to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
  14. Development of Internal Controls: Design and implement internal controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial data.
  15. Liaison with Internal/External Auditors: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  16. Mentoring a Team of 3 Trainee Accountants: Provide guidance and support to trainee accountants, ensuring their development and growth within the Finance team.
  17. Acting as Delegate for the Reporting Manager and Finance Director: Represent the Reporting Manager and Finance Director in their absence, ensuring continuity and alignment with business objectives.
Requirements
  1. Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  2. Advanced Excel skills
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  5. Ability to manage workload and a team player
  6. Able to work to strict deadlines
  7. Knowledge of US GAAP (desirable)
