Job Title: Lead Supply Chain Strategist (Construction)

Salary: Up to £80,000 based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulating efficient sourcing strategies that align with the Infrastructure Construction Strategy, while proactively identifying risks, challenges, and liabilities in procurement and contract methodologies.
  • Providing effective leadership and guidance, fostering an environment conducive to team success, while prioritizing health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Overseeing the sourcing and contracting procurement process, including the development, evaluation, and awarding of tender packages.
  • Managing Framework Agreements, ensuring optimal commercial performance of contractors, and nurturing relationships with both strategic suppliers and senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiating and finalizing contracts with external suppliers, offering expertise in cost and pricing, and executing contract closure activities.
  • Implementing supplier relationship management tools, ensuring regular supplier and sourcing reviews are conducted, and that suppliers are effectively monitored and managed.
  • Contributing to bidding activities to ensure budget alignment with business objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in supply chain management within the construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of JCT and NEC Construction contracts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business and procurement strategies, techniques, processes, policies, and frameworks.
  • Proven experience in contract and supplier performance management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on the client side.
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent MCIPS.
  • Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
