Job Title: Deputy Chief Finance Officer

Job Description:

Belmont Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Chief Finance Officer to join Medway NHS Trust on a 3 to 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Finance Officer and other senior leaders to support the delivery of the Trust's financial plan for 2023/24 and implement its medium-term financial recovery plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide financial leadership and support to the Chief Finance Officer and other senior leaders.
  2. Work closely with the Finance Team and Programme Management Office (PMO) to ensure clear and consistent reporting of efficiency savings and financial performance.
  3. Identify and implement additional efficiency opportunities to support the Trust's financial recovery plan.
  4. Support the Chief Finance Officer in overseeing the programme to monitor and manage financial risks and mitigations.
  5. Work with key stakeholders to reduce bank and agency headcount and expenditure.
  6. Contribute to the development of the medium-term financial recovery plan.

Requirements:

  1. Experience of working at CFO level or Deputy CFO level in complex, challenging NHS acute providers.
  2. Demonstrable experience of contributing to delivery of financial improvement programmes.
  3. Demonstrable track record of delivery of challenging objectives / projects / programmes.
  4. Knowledgeable of NHS financial issues.

Location: Kent, Gillingham, ME7 5NY

Hourly Rate: Negotiable depending on experience.
