Overview

Screwfix's Data and Analytics function is the backbone of our business, providing a 360-degree view of our customers across all aspects of the organisation. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in leveraging quantitative and qualitative disciplines to drive business decisions. With a rich customer database and a market-leading position, our team has the opportunity to influence short-term trading and long-term planning, making each day unique and challenging.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer behaviour, purchasing patterns, and sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights that inform business decisions.
  • Analyse and track the performance of marketing campaigns to provide insights for improvement.
  • Translate complex data into actionable formats through engaging reports and dashboards that communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Utilise SQL to extract, analyse, and interpret customer data from various sources to identify key trends, behaviours, and insights.
  • Create visually compelling reports and PowerBI dashboards that communicate customer insights to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decisions.
  • Undertake statistical analysis, including control groups and hypothesis testing.
  • Manage a portfolio of analytics work, prioritising tasks to deliver effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align customer insights with business objectives and drive customer-centric strategies.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including CRM, Commercial, and Marketing teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest analytical tools and methodologies to enhance the quality of insights.
Requirements
  • Experience in customer data/analytics, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis and Excel.
  • Experience in data visualisation and storytelling, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Python, and R.
  • Experience with data visualisation platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and integrity of work.
