About the Role:


We are looking for a skilled and proactive Facilities Operations Manager to join our educational institution in Southwark on a temporary to permanent basis.

This vital position requires an individual who can oversee the maintenance, security, and efficient functioning of our school facilities during split shifts.

As Facilities Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring our school remains a safe, clean, and inviting space for students, staff, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the opening and closing of the school facilities, ensuring all security protocols are adhered to.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of the school premises and grounds, addressing any issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage minor repairs and maintenance tasks, coordinating with external contractors for larger projects.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including performing regular risk assessments and fire safety checks.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and hygiene of the school, maintaining high standards at all times.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts, ensuring the grounds are well-kept.
  • Prepare and arrange rooms and spaces for school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, and compliance with health and safety standards.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Facilities Operations Manager, Premises Manager, or in a similar role, preferably within an educational environment.
  • Strong practical skills, including general maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with effective time management skills, particularly across split shifts.
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices is essential.
