Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Laser Systems Engineer to join our team at Light Trace Photonics. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our cutting-edge photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Laying out and optimizing chip designs for fabrication and testing
  • Building and maintaining lab functionality for PIC testing and characterization
  • Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data on PIC component performance
  • Collaborating with our software engineer to develop our PIC service
  • Developing and implementing new methods for simulating and modeling integrated photonic components

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in the simulation, design, and characterization of integrated photonic components (PhD or industry experience)
  • At least 3 years of experience programming in Python 3.0 and modeling integrated photonics using Ansys Lumerical or similar (PhD or industry experience)
  • A basic understanding of quantum photonics and electronic engineering
  • Experience submitting chip designs to commercial foundries
  • Experience with RF electronic engineering
  • Experience in PIC fabrication and packaging
