Job Title:

Effects and Vulnerability Engineer - Directed Energy Weapons

Job Summary:

MBDA is seeking a highly skilled Effects and Vulnerability Engineer to join our team working on the Dragonfire MDC project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing tools, simulations, and algorithms to support the design and testing of high-power laser systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain tools, simulations, and algorithms in MATLAB or similar toolsets to support the design and testing of high-power laser systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage and expand toolsets, interpret data, and deliver complex information into the project.
  • Configure and run simulations, and interpret output to inform design decisions and optimize system performance.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deliver high-quality results on time, cost, and quality.
Requirements:
  • Experience in developing tools, simulations, or algorithms in MATLAB or similar toolsets.
  • Understanding of how to leverage and expand toolsets, and interpret data emanating from these toolsets.
  • Experience in configuring and running simulations, and interpreting output.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work at pace, delivering complex information into the project.
  • Proven track record in delivering on time, cost, and quality.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Ansys Fluent, COMSOL, or similar Multiphysics tools.
  • System design experience in a deeply technical environment.
