Job Opportunity: PhD Studentship in Biochar Demonstrator
About the Role:
The University of Nottingham is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join the Biochar Demonstrator project. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project that aims to investigate the impact of biochar on soil health and carbon sequestration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on the effects of biochar on soil biota and physicochemistry
- Map onto the Biochar Demonstrator's field trials and collect data on soil samples
- Quantitatively analyze the data to understand the effects of biochar on soil health and carbon sequestration
- Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement research methodologies
- Present research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements:
- First- or upper second-class honours degree in the biological sciences
- Eligibility for paying home fees
- Strong research skills and experience in soil science, ecology, or a related field
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
