University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse or Midwife to join our Pregnancy Advisory Service team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients, promoting sexual health, and supporting individuals through pregnancy and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a full range of nursing skills within the Pregnancy Advisory Service, including evenings.
- Offer confidential and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, adhering to the Fraser Guidelines.
- Administer and/or issue prescribed medication as appropriate, following NMC professional guidelines and working from PGDs or Non-Medical Prescribing as necessary.
- Use professional judgment to seek advice or refer to medical colleagues when required.
- Adhere to NMC, Trust, and Directorate policies and procedures.
- Deliver high standards of care to all service users, adhering to departmental protocols, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform testing, obtain swabs and specimens as necessary, and provide advice and information to patients regarding cervical cytology.
- Promote sexual health and advise patients on reducing the risks of sexually transmitted infections.
- Undertake pregnancy tests, refer to and liaise with other professionals as needed, and provide pre-pregnancy advice and information.
- Perform ultrasound scanning to confirm pregnancy and gestation, following in-house training.
- Participate in and run nurse-led clinics, using professional judgment to seek advice or refer to medical colleagues or other agencies.
