Academic Instructor in Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Instructor in Engineering to join our team at NCG. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality learning programs in Engineering, across a range of levels of further education, higher education, and/or apprenticeship provision.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Programme Delivery and Assessment: Design and deliver engaging and effective learning programs in Engineering, ensuring that students meet the required learning outcomes.
- Programme Leadership: Lead and manage the development and implementation of Engineering programs, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
- Tutorial and Administrative Duties: Provide academic support to students, including tutorials, workshops, and one-to-one guidance, as well as undertaking administrative tasks related to program management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Machining and a proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the Engineering sector. Key skills and qualifications include:
- Machining Expertise: The ability to set and operate manual milling machines and lathes, interpret engineering drawings, and inspect machined parts in line with current industry standards.
- Leadership and Management: Experience of effective program leadership in FE, HE, and/or Apprenticeships, with a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
- Communication and IT Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as good IT skills, including the ability to use learning management systems and other digital tools.
The successful candidate will be qualified to an industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification, and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.
