Academic Instructor in Foundation Studies

Job Opportunity
Newcastle College is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Academic Instructor in Foundation Studies to teach on the Access to Further Education course.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality learning programs to 16-18 year olds in Foundation Studies, across different levels of further education.
- Provide engaging one-on-one and group tutorial sessions, as well as Digital Skills lessons.
- Undertake program leadership and administrative duties.
Requirements
- Strong background as a personal tutor and a proven track record of developing employability skills.
- Ability to promote independence and plan learners' next steps to progress further in education, employment or training.
- Hold an honours degree level qualification (Level 6), a post-16 teaching qualification, and English and maths qualifications at level 2.
- Experience in effective program leadership in FE and a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong IT skills, and the ability to self-manage workload and meet deadlines.
About the Role
The Access to Further Education course is designed to develop maths and English skills, as well as vocational and personal skills such as confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork.
Students engage in weekly maths, English, Tutorial, ICT and vocational lessons.
