Creative Support Ltd is seeking a Relief Cook to join our team at Wilshaw House service in Ashton-under-Lyne. As a Relief Cook, you will be responsible for providing cover for our kitchen team, preparing and cooking meals for our service users, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals in line with an agreed menu plan, taking into account the dietary needs and preferences of our service users.
  • Manage the kitchen area, including shopping, stock control, and rotation, to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Keep all kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy, adhering to our cleaning schedules and health and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare food in a hygienic manner, following health and safety and food hygiene legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to provide a reliable and high-quality service to our service users.

About the Role:

This is a flexible relief-based role, which means you will be required to work on an as-needed basis to cover absences or short notice requirements. You will be part of a team that provides a supportive and inclusive environment for our service users, and you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a care or support setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Basic food safety and hygiene knowledge, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
