Role Purpose
The objective of this position is to assist the Risk Function in achieving its goal of protecting the bank's financial and operational integrity by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across diverse business units and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulation of strategic direction for risk management, including the application of current methodologies and processes.
- Oversight of the risk department, including management of risk personnel, implementation of risk priorities, and evaluation of departmental efficiency.
- Management of relationships with risk stakeholders, including the identification of relevant parties and ensuring the quality of external third-party services.
- Compliance with Risk policies, standards, and frameworks, while maintaining a robust control environment.
- Influence the work of related teams within the area.
- Collaborate with other functions and business areas.
- Assume responsibility for the outcomes of a team's operational processes and activities.
- Appropriately escalate breaches of policies and procedures.
- Take charge of embedding new policies and procedures adopted for risk mitigation.
- Advise and influence decision-making within your area of expertise.
- Manage risk and enhance controls related to your responsibilities.
- Deliver work in alignment with relevant rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
- Continuously build an understanding of how your sub-function integrates with the overall function, alongside knowledge of the organization's products, services, and processes.
- Demonstrate awareness of how various areas coordinate to achieve the objectives of the organization.
- Make evaluative judgments based on factual information, with attention to detail.
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions based on acquired technical experience.
- Guide and persuade team members while communicating complex or sensitive information.
- Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, building a network of contacts beyond the team and external to the organization.
