Job Overview

Pops Facades is seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to contribute to our expanding portfolio of prestigious projects in the North West. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £70,000 annually, along with a bonus structure, car allowance, mileage reimbursement, and a clear pathway for career advancement to become the commercial lead of the company.
Role Responsibilities:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee all commercial elements from the tendering phase through to project delivery, ensuring that the commercial strategy aligns with the company's objectives. The position is primarily based in our office, with site visits as necessary.
Key Duties:

  • Tendering and Project Management:
    Manage the complete tendering process and commercial administration for the organization.
  • Conduct thorough commercial and contractual evaluations of tenders, suggesting amendments and negotiating terms to minimize risks.
  • Administer contracts and oversee project financials.
Reporting:
  • Perform monthly assessments of contract performance and results.
  • Oversee cost management and CVRs for selected projects.
Valuation and Cash Flow Management:
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly claims and manage credit control.
  • Handle claims preparation, final account negotiations, and settlements.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Enhance the commercial, project accounting, and credit control systems.
  • Drive ongoing improvements within the department.
General Responsibilities:
  • Ensure quality assurance, administration, and compliance with accreditations.
Performance Metrics:
  • Success rates in tendering, margin projections, and backlog sales.
  • Cash collection efficiency and days sales outstanding (DSO).
  • Contract management and risk mitigation.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Essential:
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proactive, customer-focused attitude with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of various contract conditions and extensive contractual experience.
  • Proficient IT skills and familiarity with relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet project deadlines.
Desirable:
  • Membership in RICS or a relevant professional body, or actively pursuing membership.
