Capital Markets Policy Leader

AFME seeks a visionary Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets to lead our EU and UK policy development across all capital markets areas.
As the driving force behind AFME's Capital Markets Division, you will shape the future of financial markets in Europe. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.
Your Responsibilities:- Lead Policy Development: Provide strategic direction for AFME's EU and UK policy initiatives across diverse capital markets segments, including fixed income, equities, MiFID-related topics, and commodities.
- Industry Collaboration: Build consensus within the industry, acting as a bridge between members and key stakeholders such as issuers, investors, and other trade associations.
- Thought Leadership: Develop influential policy positions and best practices, shaping the regulatory environment for a more efficient and robust capital markets ecosystem.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of approximately 20 professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to advance AFME's policy objectives.
We seek an exceptional leader with a deep understanding of capital markets regulation and policy. You possess:
- Extensive experience in financial markets, ideally within a regulatory or policy-focused role.
- Proven ability to build consensus and influence decision-makers at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
