Senior Buyer Job Description

Terumo Aortic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for acquiring high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive best practices in indirect procurement categories, aligning with business objectives and engaging in professional benchmarking.
  • Maintain market awareness and actively contribute to GBS meetings.
  • Collaborate with GBS members and other businesses to improve processes and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the centralization of purchasing and procurement activities for dedicated spend categories.
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies for spend categories, ensuring alignment with GBS priorities.
  • Manage RFI/RFP processes, commercial negotiations, and contract negotiations with suppliers.
  • Maintain close contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure competitive deals.
  • Install SLAs and KPIs where relevant and run cost-saving projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and support the budget process for dedicated spend categories.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to provide guidance and support to procurement team members.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices.
