Indirect Procurement Lead

Terumo Aortic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring high-quality equipment, goods, and services at competitive prices. This role involves driving best practices in indirect procurement categories, actively engaging in professional and industry benchmarking, and maintaining a high level of awareness regarding market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Global Business Services (GBS) meetings and align processes with GBS members and other businesses.
  • Drive improvement initiatives in line with GBS priorities and manage the centralization of purchasing and procurement activities.
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies for dedicated spend categories on a GBS level.
  • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) process, commercial negotiations, and contract negotiations with suppliers.
  • Maintain close contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the most suitable and competitive deals are closed.
  • Install Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) where relevant.
  • Run cost-saving and improvement projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Establish a preferred supplier list where applicable.
  • Build strong supplier relationships based on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) principles.
  • Support the budget process for dedicated spend categories.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field (SCMP/APICS/CIPS).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support procurement team members.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices.
