About the Role

Rendel Limited, a leading international design and engineering consultancy, is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our expanding team in Bristol. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking assignments in the UK and overseas, receiving, analyzing, and verifying input data, and producing high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and undertake assignments in the UK and overseas
  • Receive, analyze, and verify the consistency of input data
  • Produce deliverables, including design hypotheses, methodology, and assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes, and technical reports
  • Coordinate the work of CAD Designers
  • Perform technical verifications of civil engineering design notes, models, and drawings
  • Contribute to the surveillance of anchorages designed by equipment suppliers
  • Contribute to CDM reviews, create, and maintain the Design Risk Register (DRR)
  • Liaise with site-based engineering teams to facilitate construction
  • Assist in the management of the design process, including other related design disciplines/teams
  • Implement and adhere to Company procedures and best practice in the management, delivery, and administration of Services
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified Civil/Structural Engineer; postgraduate qualifications beneficial
  • Chartered (or near Chartered) in a relevant discipline (ICE, IStructE)
  • Working knowledge of structural design processes, with an emphasis on data interpretation, design & analysis, construction, and advanced numerical modeling
  • Structural design experience, particularly in the design of industrial reinforced concrete structures
  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes and other national and international industry standards, contracts, methodologies, and procedures
  • Experience of computer analysis and design in common materials (i.e., steel and concrete)
  • Awareness of health and safety, including possession of a current CSCS Card
  • Excellent Microsoft Office abilities (particularly Excel)
  • Experience in structural analysis/finite element software (e.g., LUSAS, Robot, and Fagus)
  • Knowledge of 3D design software (e.g., PDMS and TEKLA)
  • Ability to consult 2D/3D drawings or models in software (e.g., Autocad 2D and Navisworks)
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively to all levels both internally and with external clients. Excellent reporting writing skills
