About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at Unique Training Solutions. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive support plans, working closely with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals and staff.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in on-call rosters, providing 24/7 support to individuals and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 12 months of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of person-centred support principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of individuals and the organisation.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Care Certificate and safeguarding policies.
