Trainee Field Service Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Trainee Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Trainee Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and calibrating Coordinate Measurement, Optical, and X-ray systems at customer premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete installation, maintenance, and calibration of Coordinate Measurement, Optical, and X-ray systems at customer sites.
  2. Support customers within the UK, with opportunities to work in Ireland and Europe.
  3. Perform machine acceptance tests following relevant standards.
  4. Diagnose and fault-find repairs/breakdowns at customer sites and respond accordingly.
  5. Provide excellent customer service and maintain regular communication with customers.
  6. Maintain and plan stock, tools, and equipment based on specific tasks and customer requirements.
  7. Ensure accurate customer and internal documentation completion to maintain full compliance and traceability.
  8. Support customers remotely to resolve machine issues.
  9. Work closely with the team, adhering to service level agreement commitments, and highlight any escalations as necessary.
  10. Maintain and adhere to company and customer H&S policy and procedures.
  11. Coordinate and self-manage travel and hotel bookings.
  12. Assist and support other team members on complex repairs, retrofits, and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  1. Technical Apprenticeship completed or experience in an electronics/mechatronics engineering role within the armed forces.
  2. Full UK driving license.
  3. Permitted to work throughout the UK and Ireland.
