Job Title: Deputy Director of Midwifery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Midwifery to join our team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a crucial role in providing professional leadership and supporting the Head of Midwifery in the strategic direction of our Maternity Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide professional leadership and support the Head of Midwifery in the strategic direction of Maternity Services.
  • Work closely with all members of the maternity team to support the design, development, and implementation of Maternity strategies.
  • Deputise for the Head of Midwifery during times of annual leave and assume responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of delegated functions.
  • Support the Head of Midwifery in the delivery of development programmes, midwifery recruitment and retention, measuring and improving standards of care and the patient experience.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of the strategic plan for Maternity services in line with local and national policies.
  • Actively support team objectives by developing services and leading maternity projects to influence service redesign.
  • Lead and participate in projects and areas of work that reflect clinical, professional, and corporate objectives.
