Candidate Profile

Education and Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) qualification with a valid NMC PIN
  • Completion or progression towards a nursing degree
  • Postgraduate qualification in cardiology or high dependency care
  • Current Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification

Desirable Qualifications

  • Completion of the ALERT course
  • Qualification as a Practice Supervisor/Assessor or in mentorship

Knowledge and Experience

Essential Experience

  • Experience in cardiology nursing
  • Background in coronary care or high dependency/critical care
  • Proficiency in basic ECG and cardiac monitoring interpretation

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in caring for patients before and after cardiac procedures

Skills, Abilities, and Attributes

  • Proven ability to take charge of a ward
  • Self-motivated with the capability to lead a team of junior staff
  • Knowledge and experience in safe discharge planning
