Transformative Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Civils Delivery Director to lead the construction phase of the Transpennine Route Upgrade, a multi-billion-pound railway infrastructure programme. This prestigious scheme will improve connectivity in the North, supporting economic growth and delivering real benefits for passengers and communities.

As a key member of our dynamic team in Huddersfield, you will provide leadership and direction to the Civils IDT Management Team, ensuring the quality of the works meets the VFM Statement and targets are met or exceeded. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing risks and opportunities, ensuring the safe delivery of the major civils scope to time and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Civils IDT Management Team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage risks and opportunities, ensuring the programme's sustainability targets are met.
  • Manage the civils scope, procurement strategy, budget, and schedule, ensuring successful delivery for all alliance partners.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Alliance Charter, promoting the alliance vision and behaviours.
  • Develop and implement plans to deliver the works in line with the baseline schedule and budget, or below, striving to deliver on opportunities.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior leadership role, managing multiple large-scale projects or programmes.
  • Management of large civil engineering projects in excess of £100m.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior position on a large multi-disciplinary rail project.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Relevant experience in the successful management of major projects of high value and complexity in the construction and/or rail industries.
